Out and about in Birmingham

Good ol' Alton Towers is the nearest theme park but for an adrenaline rush in the city head for the IMAX Cinema at Millennium Point (Curzon Street,0121 202 2222). Probably not the best date though, those 3D glasses don't have quite the same effect as beer goggles.
If it's a rainy day, Cadbury World (Lindon Road, 0121 451 4159) is a safe option. Unless, that is, you're already morbidly obese, in which case it could be the nail in the very wide coffin.
If laughter is your favourite medicine the Glee Club (Arcadian, Hurst Street, 0870 241 5093) will leave you smacked up for days.
If you're looking for a shot of culture, the charming Midland Arts Centre in Cannon Hill Park (Russell Road, Moseley, 0121 440 6122) has theatre, art, films, and really good hot chocolate for the interval.
