We Will Rock You Tour

Quick confession: Itchy's not that big a fan of musical theatre. All that singing, dancing and general cheeriness just makes us feel a little bit queasy. False chirpity is not really our thing.

We Will Rock You is, thankfully, not your average musical. It's loud, it's aggressive, it's The Sound of Music with balls. Elephant-sized balls. And after sell out shows in London, the Ben Elton/Queen collaboration is finally going on a national tour.

Think Mad Max meets Blade Runner, as the Queen soundtrack takes you through a future world, previously known as Earth. The mindless sheep of society have taken over, and everyone watches the same movies, wears the same clothes, and thinks the same thoughts. It's a bit like high school.

Anyway, this is clearly an earth in need of rebellion. Step forward Galileo, a man who wants to break free (see what we did there?) and bring back individuality via music.

Sound ridiculous? It is. But it's a lot more fun than watching a bunch of curtain-clad morons sing 'so long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye'.
