Surfers Paradise (closed)
It's the part of Walkabout they don't want you to see – and that's saying something –. They wouldn't even talk to me about the place. A dark, dingy pulling palace for the aggressive and the desperate. Busy, boozy, hot and hectic. The only way this could be seen as surfer's paradise would be if you'd just lost your legs in a shark attack. And they make you pay at the door. Grim.
