Dudley Zoo & Castle

50–acres of woodland and a spectacular array of beasties, from chimps to tigers. Not your usual pent–up dismal animals here — this place is big on conservation and protecting endangered species. No matter how old you are, I defy you not to be impressed. The castle is inspiring too; a looming great creation from 1071. Next time you're hungover on a Sunday, give it a crack.
