Village, The
My word, what's happened here? The Village used to be the life and soul of Moseley, but poor management, some unfortunate crowds and increased competition has meant the biggest pub in the area has died a slow and mournful death. Huge car park, outdoor seating, massive lounge,– still good for big game sports –you can see the screen from anywhere – and a tatty bar. Even on a Friday it only takes one barman to serve everyone, it's that whisperingly quiet. On the upside, the kids, druggies and dregs have gone, and this place is waiting for a new crowd to make it their home. Great food, including Sunday lunch, and karaoke night on Thursday; the only place I've ever seen a bespectacled middle–class white kid bitch into the mike "I'm the Slim Shady, the real Slim shady mo'fo!".
