Medicine Bar

The Med Bar is a big fan of 'medicinal pleasures' and oozes its own distinctive brand of underground atmosphere. It's definitely one of the friendlier and more leftfield venues of Brum, hosting top hip-hop, drum 'n' bass and other more esoteric nights. Admittedly the clientele tend to be a bit self-consciously cool and middle-class, but nonetheless most of them have a penchant for dancing like jack-in-the-boxes when the music's turned up, and the main room can turn into a bit of a sweaty mess. This is probably just about as close as you'll get to an authentic rave scene in Birmingham.
