The James Brindley
James Brindley was some kind of engineering genius when it came to building canals in the Industrial Revolution era, and you can gaze at some of his handiwork from this canalside pub. He may not have been the most aesthetically-minded of fellows though, since it's a bit of an ugly building - it's supposed to look like one of the warehouses that would have been perched on the waterways back in ye olden days. There's perhaps a teensy lack of atmosphere inside the pub, but it does have a decent-sized outdoor area that's just perfect for a spot of al fresco boozing come summer.
