Chez Jules
Chez Jules tries to bring simple French cooking to Brum, but given how complex the dishes on the menu sound, you could fool us. Still, they deserve kudos for the rustic décor, as well as hiring real French staff in the gallic vacuum of Birmingham. Still, this doesn't mean you should expect a gastoronomic revolution, as the food's fairly unremarkable. Then agin, with two courses for £10.95 and a romantic ambience, it's hard to complain. Plus the food's nicely unpretentious, which is rare for the French.
