Plonked on top of equally ugly New Street Station, The Pallasades provides an attractively convenient way to kill an hour or two while waiting for your delayed train. Plenty of cafes to stuff your face and shops to empty your unprepared wallet. Makes for an interesting train journey after some unnecessary panic buying, especially if you kill your time in the unavoidably addictive 99p store or alternative clothing hole, Blue Banana. If you're feeling adventurous and reckon you can make it back in time, wander through the Bullring Link into the depths of Birmingham's retail abyss - never to be seen again. Probably.
