The Tap and Spile
Dating back to 1821, The Tap and Spile is one of the few pubs in the city that has retained its traditional charm. Dark and oddly shaped rooms, winding staircases and its resident drinkers greet you as you step off route from the canal for a pint. Seems miles away from the hustle and bustle of busy Broad Street, but it's near enough to enjoy some pre-club drinks and some good old fashioned pub grub before sauntering aimlessly into a messy night in town. We loved this place so much we didn't even make it to town. So don't go making any plans.
