Birmingham Hippodrome

The big cheese of the theatres in Brum, the Hippodrome reckons it's got the highest regular annual attendance of any single UK theatre. Not one to blow its own trumpet then, obviously. But jokes aside, we can see how it got its ever-increasing, pulsating ego – a nice shiny exterior welcomes you from the depths of Hurst Street and, once you're inside, you can take your pick from any of the spec-flippin-tacular shows on offer. Mary Poppins, Edward Scissor Hands and Birmingham Royal Ballet performances, without the bank-breaking ticket price too. Thumbs up for the Hippo then.
