Ramshackle

While the narrow minded scenesters who hang around the food hall in Selfridges, munching olives, in fluorescent trousers might happily be 'too cool to enjoy themselves', the more affable core of Birmingham's Indie fraternity spends every Friday night creating hangovers at this seminal city-centre club-night. Housed in the cavernous noise box that is the Academy it boasts cheaper-than-student-union drinks and entry, alongside regular giveaways, album launch parties and guest DJs, with recent alumni including Vampire Weekend and We Are Scientists.
